Lessons
This page sets out my normal lesson arrangements with my students. I am also happy to make special arrangements where possible. Feel free to contact me to discuss options.
I teach from a studio at my home in Henderson. I offer lessons on weekdays between 3pm and 7pm. On Mondays I teach until 9pm. I do not give regular lessons on Saturdays, but if necessary new students can arrange a first lesson on a Saturday to help them sort out their options. Click here to see more details.
Lessons are weekly and are half an hour long.
Fees
The first lesson is free. From the second lesson, you can choose one of the following fee options:
| Option | Fee | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Standard fee | $27.50 per lesson | You may pay for each lesson at that lesson, or monthly at the first lesson of the month. |
| Discounted fee | $25.00 per lesson | You may pay this rate if you pay for 10 or more lessons in advance. |
Cancellation
Students often have good reasons why they need to cancel a lesson - sickness, school camp, holidays and so on. I try to be flexible in these situations, but ask students to understand that they are not paying just for lessons. They are also paying for a booked lesson time that I cannot offer to other students. My cancellation policy aims to be a balance between those factors.
I am usually able to offer an alternative time or day for a lesson, so my preference is to reschedule rather than cancel lessons. This is also beneficial for the student's continuity and progress.
If a lesson has to be cancelled, the student needs to give 24 hours advance notice. If no or insufficient notice is given, I will charge for the lesson whether or not the student attends. The student is then entitled to a make up lesson.
If a student is paying monthly or quarterly, any agreed credits will be deducted from the following account.
Other services
I also offer other services such as guitar hire and gift vouchers. Feel free to ask me about these services or suggest other ways I can help you.
I look forward to helping you grow your guitar skills!
Regards,
Peter Kirkpatrick.
